Spring Trip Information

· COSTUMES/UNIFORMS MUST BE IN A GARMENT BAG AND CLEARLY TAGGED WITH YOUR NAME.  Your name and Union High School must be clearly written on your garment bag. EVERYONE MUST HAVE THEIR COSTUMES/PERFORMANCE CLOTHING/UNIFORMS in a garment bag.

· You must pack all liquids such as shampoos, hair gels, face wash and make-up in your luggage. You ARE NOT permitted to board the plane with these items in your carry-on. Your medications must be in their original container and secured in a Ziploc baggie. All instruments, luggage and garment bags will be going on the truck to Florida. We will not be checking luggage at the airport (trying to save you all the luggage surcharge at the airport). It will be hot inside the truck. Pack anything that could spill onto your clothing or explode inside your luggage in Ziploc baggies to prevent soiling your clothes. You are permitted to bring a small carry-on with you to the airport.

· Remember, we are not moving to Florida, we are only going for five days. Please do not pack as though you are leaving home forever.

· Do not bring anything super-valuable on this trip (expensive jewelry, tons of cash, clothing or shoes that are expensive). You never know what could happen to your stuff. Even with the best of intentions, things can be misplaced.

· All medicines are to be given to Ms. Criss on Wednesday AM. NO ONE may keep meds in their room! NO EXCEPTIONS! 

· BRING IDENTIFICATION! You may be unable to board the plane if you do not have a picture ID with you. DO NOT FORGET THIS! If you are over 18, you must have a NJ state ID, either a driver’s license or NJ ID. If you are over 18, YOU WILL NOT GET ON THE PLANE if you do not have proper ID.

· The weather will be very hot. Bring loose comfortable clothing and plenty of SUNSCREEN!

· Be certain to pack all of your performance needs (ie: costumes, instruments, mouthpieces, hats, uniforms, shoes, etc.). Check and RE-CHECK your things. Remember, your accuracy will affect EVERYONE.

· All luggage and costumes must be brought to Theatre/Vocal Music room (A109) between 6 & 7 pm on Monday, April 21st.

· Pack your T-shirt in your luggage (if we have shirts). All Tees will be worn on Saturday. You are permitted ONE piece of luggage and ONE carry on ONLY!

· You must check in with your chaperone at the indicated times when in the theme parks. NO ONE is to venture off by themselves. You must travel in groups of 4-6 AT ALL TIMES! You must go to the restrooms in groups! Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action.

· All Board of Education discipline policies are in FULL effect. ANYONE caught with illegal substances will be sent home IMMEDIATELY! There will be no 2nd chances. There are also consequences when we return to school.

· Rooms must be clean and NEAT at all times. Rooms will be inspected daily!

· Be wise in the sun. The FLORIDA sun is much hotter than Jersey. You will not have a good time if you are stuck in a hospital with sun poisoning.

· Don’t forget to be on your best behavior. You will be representing Union High School!! Cheer for the other schools and be supportive of their performances.

· Please remember to PHONE HOME!! Your parents need to hear from you.

· DO NOT FORGET: At 6 pm on Monday, April 26th, you are all required to come help unload equipment and luggage. The truck will be arriving much later than our flight. You MUST come and retrieve your luggage, instruments and equipment, as we have no place to store your belongings and we must return the truck Monday night. Please be responsible and show up to help, we cannot unload without you all!!!!!
